On my quest to change my mass produced synthetic home products to organic, natural ones I began with changing my face cream. When I began looking, I wanted something that was non-toxic, natural and provided a nice base to apply make up to and I came across the @barenakedskin face and eye cream. A small, independent company in the UK who are looking to promote ā€˜natural really is best’.

When the cream arrived I loved the packaging that encompasses the jar. So natural, but yet cute and I couldn’t wait to try it! The ingredients within the cream are: African Shea Butter (proven for its restorative and healing powers), Evening Primrose oil, Grape seed oil, Meadow foam seed oil, Jojoba oil, Virgin Coconut oil, Beeswax, Vitamin E oil and Rosemary oil. As with any new product, ensure you test on a small area first, although no one to date has had any allergic reactions to this product due to the purity of the product. Once I`d conducted my skin test – I was on my natural skin care journey. The first couple of days of using this product, I noticed that my skin began to feel a lot healthier and noticeably smoother to the touch. I also experienced a couple of small break-outs on my skin, which is normal whenever I change my skincare products. This did not worry me because I know my skin and know that this is a stage I always have to go through, however the number of break-outs was two. Not a significantly high number. It’s actually far less than I`ve ever had before! I continued with the day and night applications to damp skin and over a week I saw a clear change in my skins appearance and touch. My skin overall (face and neck) feels considerably smoother and softer – I’d say it was a close competition between mine and my 1 year olds skin softness! My skin feels rejuvenated and looks healthier due to a tonal shift. The moisturiser has provided a natural base for the application of my makeup and the time in which my makeup remains on my skin has increased noticeably since using this cream. For the best results with this product you need to: 1. Use the moisturiser on damp skin as this helps the moisturiser absorb into the skin better. 2. A little goes a long way – use a small amount and massage it gently around. 3. Use both day and night – it is also a fabulous lip moisturiser – particularly during this wintery season in the UK! 4. Use the cream on your neck as well as your face and eyes. I am so happy with using this product, not only is it natural and organic but it has also had a range of significant positive effects on skin, both visually and kinaesthetically. This moisturiser is a nourishing, healing and protective cream which is suitable for any type of skin at any age. Whilst some people may think Ā£20 for a face moisturiser is a tad expensive, I completely think this price is justifiable and I am fully happy to have paid this. If used moderately (in line with the best results suggestions), this product in my opinion should last 3 months. That’s just under Ā£7 per month for a completely natural and organic product. A quote that sticks in my mind is by Erno Laszlo ā€œBeautiful skin requires commitment, not a miracleā€. Our skin deserves the best because with make up or without make up we all deserve to be beautiful and we all need to use skin care which nurtures our skin naturally rather than intoxicating it. If you are looking for a natural, organic face moisturiser, I highly recommend trying this one. To meet the team who thought up and produced this, watch the below video.
