I have been lucky enough to be one of the first people to not only taste this new chocolate spread, but be fortunate enough to review it.
On its arrival, I loved that this product came in a cardboard outer packaging which is attractive, brightly coloured and I wanted to read the packaging to find out what I needed to do to make the spread.
Choconette is the first organic, oil-free, vegan chocolate spread that you make yourself. They have a variety of different flavour options: hazelnut chocolate, no added sugar, banana chocolate and crème chocolate. I have been luck enough to make and taste both the hazelnut and the no added sugar packs.
Making the chocolate spread was extremely easy and it felt really good being able to produce my own chocolate spread Not that I did much – but there was something fulfilling and therapeutic mixing and then pouring the freshly made spread into a prepared glass jar. It couldn’t be easier to make – you just add milk or a milk substitute product to the mix after it has been heated for a small duration of time and enjoy delicious chocolate spread in 30 seconds. Once made, I had a sneaky taste test and then placed the glass jar in the fridge.
The following day I used the spread as part of my pancake toppings. My favourite pancake toppings are strawberries, blueberries, nut butter and chocolate spread. Up until recently I’d been having the most popular brand (I`m sure you all know which one I mean), but I’ve changed to using choconette spread and I do not regret the move. I much prefer the taste of dark chocolate in this natural and organic chocolate spread. The taste it much sweeter and tastes wholesome. To test my taste buds, I have also tried some ‘popular brand’ chocolate spread and I could taste the synthetic, impure taste of chocolate and it repulsed me. If I had not made this switch, I would still be putting products into my body which do not provide me with pure, organic ingredients and potentially do more harm than good. I know there will be plenty of people who will disagree with my viewpoint of the well-known brand of chocolate spread – and that’s OK, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I will not be purchasing it in the future.

One thing I like about the choconette spread (as well as making it yourself) it how versatile it is. It can be used easily as chocolate spread, can be used as part of baking, with smoothies and breakfast bowls and it can be used as part of fun activities with children in the kitchen as they can be part of the making process.
This product is definitely worth trying for a natural, organic, oil free AND vegan chocolate spread alternative. It can be purchased via Amazon or by going directly to the Lescaro website.
