“For all the things my hands have held, the best by far is you” I’m in awe of my two boys. Everyday they amaze me with how clever, cheeky and inspirational they are. I want to make sure I give these two the best I possibly can and they are one of the reasons I started my back to nature journey. Our children are the next generation and we need to show them the natural beauty of the world, not just enclose them in the house in front of TV's or games consoles. I am a kinaesthetic learner and I want to show my boys and let them experience life.

Yesterday me, my husband and our two boys went on adventure in the woods. All kitted out in our wellies and coats, the boys splashed in muddy puddles, jumped onto and off fallen branches and logs and all with a smile on their faces. We saw squirrels running along the ground and ascending up into the tree. I`m currently in the middle of a fortnight off work and I am so grateful and thankful to be able to spend time with my boys, enjoying the outdoors and appreciating the weathers most picturesque and free aspects of life.

I cant wait for the bluebells to begin appearing as these are my favourite flower. Walking around nature encased in these beautiful flowers, I admire and respect the natural world around us and how the simple things in life can provide so much happiness, hope and peace. It is these three feelings which war

m my heart as I spend time with my boys. The love they show each other far outweighs anything else. I am heartened by their brotherly instinct to support each other, love each other and protect one another. When one falls, the other goes with a helping hand and vice versa. I`m glad I am taking the time to see all these small subtle, but important parts of their childhoods. It`s easy to think 'the washing needs doing, there's a pile of ironing to be done etc', but are these actually that important? Can they wait a day or two? As our children growing up wont wait and do we want to look back and regret missing something? I certainly don't.

I am constantly saying to my husband 'watch this' or 'did you see that' because I want us both to remember special moments for the years to come. My boys are no longer my little babies, they are adventurous, loving, cheeky and creative and I am enjoying my little family for the here and now. My eldest will start school this year and that will be another rollercoaster change for our family. One I`m not ready for, but my son is (seeing as he tells me so every day). Family is so important and giving time to it is crucial and often, we forget that this time is not only needed, but is vital for us to function well both physically and mentally.
